The 2009 Chairman of the Newcastle and Coalfields Rugby League Referees Association Geoff Whiddon was recently presented with the prestigious Dennis Braybrook award. A New South Wales Referees award, this was put in place 15 years ago to be presented annually to the person deemed to have provided excellent service in the development of young referees in their area.
