New Sponsor ‘The Good Guys’ |

Members,
It is with great pleasure that at last night’s general meeting I announced the signing of ‘The Good
Guys’ as the major sponsor of the Newcastle Coalfields Rugby League Referees Association from
2012 to 2014.
This is a significant milestone for the Association during a turbulent financial period. The sponsorship
will allow the Association to keep moving forward in the areas of recruitment, development,
coaching and retention of referees within the Newcastle and Coalfields area. The agreement
with ‘The Good Guys’ also ensures the financial viability and security of the Association for many
years to come.
We are very lucky as an Association to have such sound financial backing from a leading business
such as ‘The Good Guys’.
The new agreement provides the Association with a fresh chance to improve the way our sponsors
have been promoted by our Association which is vital as they are key stakeholders.
We as members can support ‘The Good Guys’ by making purchases at the East Maitland, Kotara
or Warners Bay stores. Tell them you’re from the Newcastle Coalfields Rugby League Referees
Association so they know we are supporting them as they have supported us.
On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Brad Sangster, Glenn Geary and Andrew Robertson for
their sponsorship and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership.

Dennis Braybrook Award 2009 |

The 2009 Chairman of the Newcastle and Coalfields Rugby League Referees Association Geoff Whiddon was recently presented with the prestigious Dennis Braybrook award. A New South Wales Referees award, this was put in place 15 years ago to be presented annually to the person deemed to have provided excellent service in the development of young referees in their area. The Junior Referees Development at the NCRLRA is Sponsored by the Newcastle And Hunter Youth Development Trust. Congratulations Geoff. |

"The Newcastle Coalfields Rugby League Referees are pleased to announce a sponsorship arrangement with the Newcastle and Hunter Youth Development Trust, to provide support for our referees in all junior and schoolboy games. The arrangement allows for the Newcastle and Hunter Youth Development Trust logo to appear on all jerseys worn by referees in all matches from Under 6's through to Under 17's, along with school fixtures, played in the Newcastle and Lower Hunter areas. Chairman of the Newcastle Coalfields referees Geoff Whiddon said "it is great that we have such wonderful supporters of junior sport like the Newcastle and Hunter Youth Development Trust. This sponsorship arrangement allows us to continue to recruit and develop rugby league referees in the local area, and provide players of rugby league the chance to have appropriately qualified referees in all their games". |
